Moment to Moment (mes réactions à chaud)

If I had to comment on Moment to Moment, the first words that would come to my mind woul be "wierd and on the edge of the absurd". Who knows what Robert Downey Sr. was high on when he shot this movie...
And who knows what point he was trying to make, if he ever was?
I understand that the film took 8 years to be made. To me it looks like it was shot in a couple of hours and never actually edited. The whole film is shot with a very unsteady camera that makes it look like a home video. And the various scenes appear randomly like a multitude of short films.
It is interesting, however, to see how this film, in some wierd and twisted ways, might have inspired RDJ when co-writing The Last Party. Like the line "When a ritual becomes a *** it's time to quit". That very same line, or a very similar one, is said by his father when asked about the crazy years of doing drugs.
There are, also, some very funny lines :
"Gentlemen, let your mind go, let your body go, let your wallet go"
"If words could speak, I'd still have nothing to say"
and some more... in the absurdity field :
"Guy 1 : When I get what I want I don't want it.
Larry (!) : But if you want what you get then you get it!"
Among the funny and absurd scenes, my favourite would be the one with 3 guys walking along the beach :
"Guy 1 :... makes it possible to enjoy the future
Guy 2 : It's better than nothing
Guy 3 : I disagree
Guy 2 : Everyobody has got to chip in across the board. Even the garbage man. If you don't pack your garbage properly, it comes back right through your window.
Guy 3 : I have to take my mother for a flu shot."
Watching the (1 hour 15 minutes long) film for the sake of spotting Robert Downey Jr. as a kid is absolutely worth it. And watching it for the sake of having a glimpse on the entire Downey family, with all it's wierdness creativity and it's overwhelming love is totally worth it.
