Berkeley4111 in Onstage_1 asks: What was it like working with Jon Anderson of Yes on the song "Your Move"? Berkeley, CA

Robert_Downey_Jr says: He is a sweetheart. And only pretends he's from this planet. He was actually in San Luis Obispo, and although we knew each other we didn't do the song together we just sent files back and forth. Oh yes and when you hear him sing you know he's connected to something very high.

mdgoddess2001 in Onstage_1 asks: Do you write any poetry? if so could we see some of them? CO

Robert_Downey_Jr says: I'll get on that right away, you've just given me a new idea.

Rooney_babe1 in Onstage_1 asks: To what do you attribute overcoming the many challenges in your life? -Marisa. Idaho

MelanieJoyK in Onstage_1 asks: Why the title "Futurist"?

Robert_Downey_Jr says: I was looking for a word in a line of a lyric for that song, it didn't have a title and I opened a dictionary in the "F" department and the definition of "futurist" worked for many reasons. Look it up if you want.

Doris611 in Onstage_1 asks: I know last year you were going to spend Christmas in Hawaii. Have you any plans for this Christmas?

DishDiva says: What is your favorite song to perform?

Robert_Downey_Jr says: We're going Caribbean this time around. I want to play with fishies.

Robert_Downey_Jr says: Lately it's been the title song, but we really don't do that one on shows. The one that we've been doing is "Man Like Me." On the "Tonight Show" we did it with Chello and piano, that was fun.

gypsearose-oc in Onstage_1 asks: would you consider broadway ??? your music is awesome ... so are you ... m oc nj

Robert_Downey_Jr says: Thank you, dear. I'm actually, though I haven't mentioned this before, this is an exclusive, I'm somewhere at the beginning of writing a musical and I'd rather do one that I wrote than do someone else's.

Lavendar3445 in Onstage_1 asks: What was it like at the White House last night? We heard you were great.

Robert_Downey_Jr says: It was fun. Colin Powell rapped for Warren Beaty, a la "Bullworth" and I really like D.C. I would like to gain some more influence there, in the nicest way possible.

mandilisa in Onstage_1 asks: Robert! I have to tell you I admire you for your spirituality and awareness. It's quite refreshing and it shows through in your newest interviews and music. Can I come play with the fishies too? Lisa Ohio

Robert_Downey_Jr says: I don't know how much room there will be on the boat otherwise I'd extend a warm invitation.

SusanRies1 in Onstage_1 asks: The performances were absolutely great! The band is amazing. Did you know the bandmember before recording?

Robert_Downey_Jr says: I've known Cameron for a while, Steve Dudas played a bunch of guitar on the record. Sabil-Lecco is the real heart of the band on bass. They are all very happy people. We have a good time together.

exactjack4 in Onstage_1 asks: Can you tell us about the song Little Clownz? I love it! USA

Robert_Downey_Jr says: Funny that you would ask because "Little Clownz" was a song that was meant to be for the musical I have been dreaming up for a while. It stands pretty well on it's own, about God explaining himself to a confused populous.

Rooneyrunner1 in Onstage_1 asks: Mr. Downey, what made you decide that you wanted to record an album?

Robert_Downey_Jr says: My mom was a musical/theater major in Penn State and went on to become an actress and I kind of picked up my exposure to both film and music and singing and stuff from her. So for as much as any other reason to keep the tradition alive and I thought mom would get a kick out of it too.

hugerobertdowneyjrfan in Onstage_1 asks: you are the king Robert, i love you so much! i was wondering who your favourite writers are. love you!!! steph AUSTRALIA

Robert_Downey_Jr says: Evelyn Waugh is one. Of course Henry James. I also liked the old Richard Sheridan. Toni Morrison. I was raised on JD Salinger personally.

mdgoddess2001 in Onstage_1 asks: You seem to have a strong connection with the song "smile" what do you think of when you play or hear the song? CO

Robert_Downey_Jr says: I think about Chaplin's flim "Limelight" but for some reason I think of "City Lights" where at the end of the film the woman regains her sight due to the little tramp's efforts. She can see him and realizes who he has been all along. It's a huge pathos binge going on. He smiles and he is weeping at the same time. It's a true Chaplin metaphor.

CassieSage in Onstage_1 asks: You told Diane Sawyer that when you hear yourself sing you think of your mother - how so....Cassie

Robert_Downey_Jr says: I just remember her sitting at the piano and making stuff up, hers is more like smokey lounge than mine. I don't think I've heard my father sing once. I just think we're extensions of our parents qualities for better or for worse.

SexyCapi in Onstage_1 asks: DID YOU COME ACROSS YOUR SPIRITUALITY BY BEING INVOLVED WITH THE NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBES of california? angel native tsalagi

Robert_Downey_Jr says: That's a very nice story to hear. It's really exciting. I was driving by Tower Records and unbenownst to me there was a very large poster of me. My gal, Susan, and I stopped and parked in front of it. After a few minutes we realized that we needed to quietly slipped away. (laughs)

Robert_Downey_Jr says: I painted it and all my mistakes were corrected by the computer.
